Conteur was established to create a new voice in contemporary dance in Canada, offering a platform of opportunity for talent – both Canadian and internationally, and to strengthen the contemporary dance industry throughout the country.
The Canadian based Contemporary Company, established in 2011, by Toronto’s own visionary, Eryn Waltman, and structured by Dani Matte has seen audiences around Canada, New York City and Los Angeles since inception 2 years ago. The company’s influence on young individuals to use dance as expression for society and youth, is at the forefront of focus for Conteur. With this, dance will be introduced as an art form in young communities to build healthy lifestyles, both physically and mentally. Offering a platform with the touring company, Conteur hopes to create affiliations with audiences and companies worldwide, through performances that inspire education, creation, and influence.
After 2 full length seasons, Conteur has created alliances with American staple – Peridance Capezio Center, and will grace the stage in the fall of 2016 in both Toronto and New York, for its 3rd full length premiere.
