Choreographer / Dancer


Born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, Rodrigo Basurto Garcia was an inspiring “Street Dancer” throughout his youth. Beginning at age 11, Garcia studied at Studio Art and Talent OPUS for three years. When Garcia turned 15, he trained in breakdance for six years with three time International Breakdance Champions, “The Family BBoy Crew”. Through hard work and passion, his talents eventually brought him to Toronto, Canada in 2005.

Garcia’s talents were quickly recognized in Canada and he soon became a member of “Do Dat”, receiving invaluable training under the mentorship of So You Think You Can Dance Canada Judge and Choreographer, Luther Brown. After honing his skills for seven years in Canada, his expertise is in Hip Hop, Street Dance, Salsa Dancing, Breakdance as well as flips. As a result, his talents have provided him with opportunities to work with many top industry professionals in North America including Marty Kudelka, Nick Bass, Misha Gabriel and Leon Blackwood amongst many others.

Additionally, Garcia has also performed and filmed with several music industry leaders such as Lady Gaga, Flo Rida, Nelly Furtado, Taio Cruz, Victoria Duffield and Danny Fernandes. With his impressive experiences and talents, Garcia remains as one of North America’s top requested dancers. Known for his hard work, originality, smooth style and stage presence, Garcia currently continues to contribute heavily in the dance industry through performance, choreography and artistic direction. Examples of his recent work include dance and choreography in Taio Cruz’s “Move On” music video, dance in Danny Fernandes’ “Take Me Away” music video as well as live performance with Lady Gaga during the 2009 MMVAs. Now currently residing in Los Angeles, Rodrigo is focused on training and expanding his dance vocabulary with the industry’s best, in addition to choreographing regularly for dancers across North America.
